Letters to Leonard E. Wales, 1817, 1822.

Two letters, one (1817) from his brother J.M. Wales in Sparta, Georgia and the other (1822) from his nephew, Samuel A. Wales, in Eatonville, Georgia. Both discuss in detail their preparation for law practice in Georgia, including the bar examination. His brother also comments on law practice at court and compares both to practices in Connecticut.

Son of Samuel Wales, born in New Haven, Conn., June 20, 1788; graduated from Yale in 1807; studied law and was interested in politics. He was city attorney of New Haven, 1819-1821.
